Take a trip to your local music store and you’ll see that despite early predictions to the contrary from some, hardware workstations are far from dead. Indeed, if Yamaha’s recent output is anything to go by, they’re going from strength to strength. It seems that some players are reluctant to switch to fully computer-based setups, especially in the live environment, where the fewer pieces of delicate technology you have lying around, the less there is to go wrong.
