Digital Performer 6 reached only version 6.02 and many users were expecting further updates until the announcement earlier this year of DP 7. Loyal DP users received the first copies, but now that 7.02 has been released we have a review copy. Significant additions to this well-respected DAW include simulated guitar amps and mic’ed speaker cabinet plus a suite of virtual guitar pedals modelled on Boss, Ibanez and other units. You also get inline dynamics and EQ processing plus a single channel strip that can be displayed in the main consolidated window. Lead sheets, lyrics and chord symbols have been added to the QuickScribe Score Editor.
Score: 8
