AKAI MPC5000
AKAI is the firm behind the legendary MPC series, but how will its new flagship MPC5000 fare? Hollin Jones digs in.
Price: £1,550.00
Manufacturer: AKAI
Website: http://www.akaipro.com

AKAI has been at the forefront of sampling technology for many years and continues to develop hardware-based music production centres – MPCs – for those who prefer a more hands-on and less computer-centric approach to making beats and tracks. Historically, MPCs have found particular favour in the hip hop and R‘n’B worlds, where producers like RZA use them extensively. The MPC5000 is AKAI’s new flagship model, and aims to provide a complete sampling and sequencing solution for producers and composers.
