Yamaha’s promotional literature for the MSP7 emphasises that the company has set out to create studio monitors rather than hi-fi speakers. It is more interested in conveying warts-and-all detail and accurate frequency balance rather than a sweetened or enhanced listening experience. Some people find the ‘truth’ a little hard to take, but this is our preferred option too.
