Yamaha MW12CX
If your budget won’t extend to multi-I/O interfaces but you need some extra flexibility in your project studio, the MW12CX could be the answer. Mike Hillier gets in the mix...

The latest addition to Yamaha’s MW small-format mixer range is the MW12CX, a 12-channel analogue mixer with one-knob compression, built-in digital effects and a USB interface for stereo connection to a PC or Mac. Although it is smaller and has fewer I/O options, the MW12CX is very similar to the MG166CX reviewed last month. However, the lower price and smaller footprint of the MW series makes them ideal mixers for project studios, particularly in the electronic music or podcast arenas, where having large numbers of ins and outs isn’t particularly a concern.
