Native Instruments Sonic Fiction
Sonic Fiction is the latest in a long line of sounds developed for NI’s Kore system. Mark Cousins sounds it out.

A quality that has defined a large amount of Native Instruments’ sonic output has been its fondness for bizarre and unusual sounds. You need only listen to Absynth’s presets, for example, to realise that a glassy, fractalized granular pad sound is just as important to Native Instruments as a warm and cuddly analogue synth bass. Given this love of the unusual, therefore, it’s no surprise that a number of the company’s recent KoreSound Packs have focused on such sounds, whether it’s Absynth’s Spectral Expansion or the intriguing Acoustic Refractions.
Score: 8
