Novation Novation ReMOTE 25 SL
Configuring a MIDI controller can be a time-consuming and frustrating job, but Novation’s latest offering aims to make life easier. Mike Hillier lets the ReMOTE 25 SL take control.

While USB MIDI controllers made hands-on, tactile control over software instruments and effects possible, configuring the controller and software to work together was often a time-consuming task. But even once everything was up and running, you still had to remember what instrument each MIDI controller related to, and switching instrument meant remapping the controller to the controls of the new instrument.
Score: 10
