Australian microphone manufacturer Røde established its reputation at the start of the home recording boom with affordable Neumann lookalike large-capsule condensers such as the NT1 and NT2. Today Røde still makes affordable condensers, but the quality of the components and finish has dramatically improved and now all the parts and metalwork are made in-house in two factories near Sydney.
