Even if you’re one of those IDM bods whose entire musical universe resides within a single computer platform, you may eventually have to consider purchasing a preamp. Current audio interfaces can provide you with all manner of balanced/unbalanced connections and digital I/O, but the unique flavour of a favourite preamp is something to be savoured by music producers at all levels.
