There are few software instruments that can claim to be truly ‘essential’ tools – not just being good at what they do, but being inspiring musical stalwarts that you come to rely on each and every day. In our opinion, Spectrasonics’ existing range of virtual instruments – including Stylus RMX, Atmosphere and Trilogy – certainly fall into that category, being some of the best-sounding virtual instruments available (and in the case of Stylus RMX, offering some of the most creative tools around for warping REX-based loops).
Score: 10
