Whether it’s desktop or laptop, FireWire audio interfacing seems to have become the de facto standard for getting audio in and out of a computer. Indeed, if you’re currently on the lookout for an interface, the choice is getting increasingly varied – from the updated versions of the original MOTU 828 that kick-started the FireWire revolution, right through to the latest generation of interfaces from the likes of Edirol, Focusrite and RME.
