Remember Joe Meek? He was the guy behind Telstar – the early 60s classic performed by The Tornados – and other hits such as Have I The Right?, by The Honeycombs. These were tunes that were way ahead of their time in terms of production. Despite an ugly fate, Meek’s legacy lives on, not only in music, but also in terms of equipment. A range of gear introduced in the 90s bears his name – a company started by Meek’s right-hand man, Ted Fletcher. He’s since sold the Joe Meek company to a US concern and today his own initials are applied to TFPro – a portfolio of gear that is testament to Ted’s passion for analogue electronics and, in particular, optical circuit designs.
