Of all the hardware in a typical outboard rack, you’d have thought that the humble reverb unit would have had the easiest transition into plug-in form. Unlike vintage compressors assembled from hand-built components, the classic reverb units that defined the late 70s and 80s were all built on coded DSP algorithms – something you’d assume would be easy to replicate in plug-in form.
