AKG Perception 100
For years the AKG sound was the preserve of top studios, but the Perception 100 could change all that. Huw Price finds out.
Price: £120.00
Manufacturer: AKG
Website: http://www.akg-acoustics.com

The Perception 100 is a no-frills, rather understated affair. There’s no bass cut and no switchable attenuation pad. The finish is regulation matte silver and there’s no telling what’s going on inside because you need a special tool to unscrew the base (not supplied). Nevertheless, if the electronics have been assembled with the same meticulous attention to detail as the external finish, there shouldn’t be any real cause for concern.
Score: 8
