AKG Perception 170

Price: £100.00
Manufacturer: AKG
Website: http://www.akg-acoustics.com

All of the other new models in AKG’s Perception series of microphones have large capsules, so this is the only small-capsule condenser you can choose from if you want ot get a taste of the Perception sound, which AKG claims to deliver outstanding clarity and transient response. The fixed cardioid capsule itself measures half an inch and is specifically designed to ‘bring AKG studio quality to the project studio and all other areas of recording’.

Score: 7
