Terratec Phase 88 Rack FW
PCI cards seem a distant memory thanks to the growing number of FireWire-equipped peripherals, but this offering comes in both flavours. Alistair Lindsay gets fired up.
Price: £360.00
Manufacturer: Terratec

TerraTec made an impression when it released the EWS 88MT back in 1999. It offered eight 24-bit/96kHz analogue inputs and outputs, digital S/PDIF plus MIDI I/O for less than £400. The EWS 88MT has since developed a loyal following, earning TerraTec a respectable place among the company’s peers. However, we have seen a rise in the number of USB- and FireWire-based audio interfaces receiving favourable media and public attention, and it’s obvious that the market for non-PCI based products is steadily growing.

Hello. I own Phase 88 PCI, and it has software meters. The problem is that you have to right click (Pc system in my studio) on the fader´s rail to see it appear. I think is a problem of design. I don´t know how it works on a Mac. Thanks for your pleasant detail about the sound of the converters. I´m now more pride.
I´d like to say that is very reliable , great drivers, no problems at all. Simple but great.
