TerraTec markets many kinds of consumer and professional video and audio products, having quickly become one of the biggest PC soundcard manufacturers in Germany during the late 1990s. In terms of studio tools, the company is best known for its PCI cards, but the design of this FireWire unit saw TerraTec teaming up with well-known German audio company SPL, which co-operated on the analogue circuitry design – specifically the mic preamps – although the unit itself is actually made in Taiwan.
