There’s always been something of a contradiction about studio equipment companies manufacturing loudspeakers. On the one hand, offering a range of monitors gives makers of multitrack recorders and signal processors the chance to offer users a ‘total solution’ and enhances brand awareness. On the other, there isn’t actually much in common between the electronics that drive modern studios and the monitors through which we hear the results.
