Digidesign Pro Tools LE 8
Major upgrades to Pro Tools are a rare occurrence, so does version 8 bring something particularly special to the party? Mike Hillier assesses the new features and changes.
Price: £92.00
Manufacturer: Digidesign
Website: http://www.digidesign.com

By comparison to some of the other DAWs, Pro Tools is a slow, ponderous beast. In the six years that MTM has been publishing, this is only the second major upgrade to the software (version 6 was reviewed in Issue 01). In the meantime, however, we’ve seen some great additions to the DAW coming in the form of minor ‘point’ releases, such as the superb Elastic Time feature in version 7.4. The release of a major upgrade, then, is an exciting proposition.
Score: 8
