Pro Tools is the professionals’ first choice when it comes to DAW software, but you used to need Digidesign hardware to run it. That’s now changed, as George Shilling discovers.

When Avid, Digidesign’s parent company, announced the acquisition of M-Audio in August 2004, a statement was released stating that there were “no plans to develop Pro Tools for M-Audio hardware”. However, what we have here is a specific version of the legendary Pro Tools software, which works only with M-Audio hardware. Currently there 11 audio interfaces that you can use with Pro Tools, including the Ozonic, which we used for this review.
