Cakewalk Project5

There’s no doubt about it – Propellerheads’ Reason sparked a revolution in computer music software. It was the first application to not only offer a comprehensive software synthesizer and sampler studio, but the first to offer it in an instantly recognisable, userfriendly, rack-style interface. To great fanfare at NAMM 2003, Cakewalk unveiled Project5, their own software studio. Project5 at once recalled the venerable Propellerheads offering and looked individual and unique. Not four months later, Project5 is upon us. Does it live up to the expectations?
Score: 8
