You may have noticed that the idea of integration is becoming increasingly important to music technology companies. More and more products are multifunctional these days – USB-powered MIDI keyboards that also perform synthesis and audio I/O tasks, for example. In the not too distant past, attempting to cram so many features into one box often meant compromise or that some elements worked better than others. But as technology marches on, devices that claim to ‘do everything’ are getting much better at it.
