M-Audio ProKeys 88
The days of using one dedicated keyboard in the studio and another on the stage are seemingly numbered. Hollin Jones tinkles the ivories of M-Audio’s new ProKeys 88.
Price: £469.00
Manufacturer: M-Audio
Website: http://www.maudio.co.uk

Until recently, M-Audio was primarily a maker of audio and MIDI interfaces, but in the last couple of years the company has diversified significantly and is now also a big player in the keyboard market. Starting with small, ultra-portable USB MIDI keyboards, the range has grown quickly and now includes the ProKeys 88 – the company’s first digital stage piano. Not to be confused with the KeyStation Pro 88 (which M-Audio classes as a controller keyboard on account of its lack of onboard sounds), the ProKeys 88 is aimed at players who perform as well as program.
Score: 9
