Arturia Prophet V

Arturia is back with another software re-creation of a legendary vintage synth. Hollin Jones finds out what the future holds for the Prophet V...

Price: £150.00
Manufacturer: Arturia
Website: http://www.arturia.com

Following something of an exile from the world of dance and club music through most of the 1990s, a new generation of rock, indie and pop musicians is discovering the unique charms of the analogue synth. There are a handful of classic vintage synths whose sounds are still in such demand that companies invest a great deal of time and effort emulating them, but few have achieved as much in this field as Arturia. Its much-praised range of software synth emulations – ARP2600, Moog Modular, minimoog and CS-80V – is now joined by a newcomer, the Prophet V.

Score: 10
