Analogue mixers have always been at the heart of professional recording studios and live venues. But in project studios, mixing is a task more commonly performed using software, and the traditional mixer has been replaced by ever more advanced audio interfaces and software, much of which now incorporates a large proportion of the essential routing and monitoring facilities that once required a dedicated mixer and separate interface.
