Time was when a TC Electronic multi-band parametric equaliser was as common a sight in a studio as discarded pizza boxes and shredded Rizla packets. Old habits die hard but technology changes, and so with the demise of spinning reels of rusty ribbon in favour of digital disks, TC has moved with the times and now has chips with just about everything. TC Electronic deals with hardware and software since TC Works has now merged with Electronic. There’s also the relatively new TC-Helicon – a sister company that’s part-owned by IVL, that focuses primarily on vocal technologies.
