With the launch of Record, some wondered whether Reason would end up taking a back seat as Propellerhead’s flagship product. It did seem, after all, to be a more advanced program not least because of its audio recording capabilities and up-to-the-minute core technologies. Seasoned Prop-watchers were not too concerned, however, and their faith was rewarded when Reason 5 was unveiled: a significant update both in terms of workflow and new modules. In the past, new versions of Reason have tended to focus on one or the other, but this time there are changes and tweaks to be found across the board.
