Tannoy Reveal 6
Tannoy’s original Reveal monitors were a big success, and the Reveal 6 is the first redesign in ten years. Huw Price determines the merits of messing with a winning formula.
Price: £199.00

The Reveal 6s don’t look that much different from their illustrious predecessors, but there are plenty of new features to check out. Any decent monitor will have an extremely rigid cabinet to minimise or, if possible, eliminate box resonance. The original Reveal benefited from a substantial four-centimetre front baffle, but now Tannoy has internally braced the sides and rear of the MDF cabinet against the bass driver to further stiffen the assembly and tighten the bass. There’s a bass port at the back, too, so make sure you place the Reveals at least six inches away from any walls.
