Sontronics Saturn Microphone Review
Sontronics set out to create a true all-purpose multi-pattern condenser microphone. Huw Price finds out if it succeeded.
Price: £699.00
Manufacturer: Sontronics
Website: http://www.sontronics.com

The preview pictures we saw on the website left us unprepared for the sheer physical presence of this microphone. On the stand it measures 26x16cm and it’s the perfect device for inspiring singers. The metal hoop serves a purpose beyond 1930s nostalgia, because the capsule housing is suspended from four little springs. These combine with the suspension mount for a real belt-and-braces approach to shock isolation.
Score: 9
