If you take a tour through the top end of the current crop of music production control surfaces, you’ll find a number of common elements including features such as ‘tape transport’ controls. Invariably, however, you know that the device is targeted at a professional audience if there’s a jog/shuttle wheel present. This usually takes the form of a freely rotating wheel with a concentric collar designed to enable you to move an audio cursor more intuitively.
