Things move pretty fast in Cakewalk’s world, and the development of its flagship sequencer, Sonar, seems to proceed at an incredible pace by comparison to other major DAWs. Now at version 8, it’s a fully featured audio and MIDI production and recording environment for Windows. Fans of the software may be interested to know that it’s now quietly badged as a Roland product as well, since Roland bought a majority stake in Cakewalk.
