The last year has been an exciting time for Pro Tools LE users: we’ve seen the release of Pro Tools 7 (featuring significant developments to the Pro Tools interface), the Music Production Toolkit package finally pushing LE’s track count beyond 32, and, most impressively, two stunning virtual instruments from Digidesign’s new AIR division. For the uninitiated, AIR (Advanced Instrument Research) was born from Digidesign’s acquisition of Wizoo, with its first two products – Xpand! and Hybrid – both demonstrating Wizoo’s considerable expertise in developing sampled content and virtual instruments.
