Digidesign Structure
With the release of Structure, have Pro Tools users finally got the integrated sampler they’ve been longing for? Mark Cousins takes a look.
Price: £353.00
Manufacturer: Digidesign
Website: http://www.digidesign.com

As with all virtual instruments, you’re certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding which software sampler to choose. In the case of Logic Pro’s EXS24, though, one clear advantage is that it’s offered as a completely ‘integrated’ solution, whereby both the sound engine and core operational components are fully embedded into Logic, so you’re not faced with the restrictions of working via a plug-in interface. Up until now, Pro Tools users haven’t been so lucky, either having to wrestle with the mammoth task of sampling using a third-party RTAS plug-in, or use the application’s rather antiquated Soft SampleCell system.
Score: 9
