Tannoy Sub 15 5.1
If you want to hear really deep bass, the bad news is that small nearfield monitors just can’t cut it – you need a subwoofer. Huw Price dives in at the deep end.

You know what it’s like in cinemas and clubs these days: deep bass – and plenty of it. We’re talking about the kind of bass where you feel it as much as you hear it, so how can you be sure that your mixes are behaving themselves in the trouser-flap department when you do all your work on small nearfield monitors? You could always install some wall-mounted studio-style speakers if you have the space, but in the real world a subwoofer might be your only practical solution.
