Tapco SW-10
You’ve got no bass and you’ve got no space – so big speakers are out of the question. Does the diminutive SW-10 pack the necessary punch? Huw Price finds a rookie on the subs’ bench.
Price: £269.00
Manufacturer: Tapco

The Tapco S-5 has a 5-inch woofer and the S-8 has an 8-inch woofer, so it’s no surprise to learn that the Tapco SW-10 has a 10-inch woofer. Launched in January this year to complement the nearfield monitors in the Tapco range, the styling is consistent, with chunky MDF cabinets, a flawless black finish, matte silver speaker surrounds and industrial-looking hex speaker fixings. If you are using the SW-10 to augment two nearfield speakers, you simply connect the left/right outputs of your mixer or soundcard to the balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA inputs. The left/right satellite speakers are connected in series with the SW-10’s left/right XLR and RCA outputs.
