Anyone who has used an orchestral library knows how time-consuming it can be working with individual instrument samples. Constructing ensembles, one instrument at a time, isn’t really conducive to creativity, especially as far as cinematic effects are concerned. Just think how nice it would be, then, to simply play the various ensemble elements within a score as you compose. Well, the notion isn’t so fanciful any more because Project Sam’s new orchestral instrument, Symphobia – comprising ensemble recordings and cinematic effects for scoring film, television and games music – provides the means to do just that.
