In 1998 Marc-Pierre Verge and Philippe Dérogis, two scientists with more degrees between them than you could shake a stick at, decided to start a business. Both were keen musicians (Marc-Pierre plays the flute and Philippe is a jazz trumpet player) and with their backgrounds in acoustics, a company specialising in audio software seemed the obvious direction to head in: Applied Acoustics Systems was born.
