Once in a while, a product comes along that turns traditional or accepted forms of music-making on their head. More often than not, the expense and risks involved in developing a completely new type of instrument mean that most concepts never make it off the drawing board, let alone into the shops. So when a slim, futuristic-looking silver box covered in LED buttons arrives from Yamaha, you can bet it’s going to be something interesting…
