There’s no substitute for a proven track record in audio manufacture and Event’s reputation is certainly enough to provide its new ‘Tuned Reference’ nearfield monitors with an excellent pedigree. In fact, the TR8 uses exactly the same driver, tweeter, crossover and cabinet combination as the 20/20bas monitors and the TR5 is similarly identical to the Project Studio5 – both of which were deservedly successful products. What’s changed is the amplification and the price tags. We are looking at both new versions here.
