One of the most comprehensive DJ software packages on the market gets an update. Liam O’Mullane takes it for a spin.

Traktor started life in 2000, as a DJ software package boasting a clear and effective layout. Over the years it’s gained many more features and now comes in various flavours. This month we’re taking a look at Traktor Pro 2, which is the all-bells-and-whistles version of the current Traktor range. It can be used as a standalone system, coupled with a computer’s own soundcard or with additional interfaces as required, and can be controlled using either a mouse and keyboard, a MIDI controller or special timecoded vinyl. We tested it using Native’s own S4 controller to get properly hands-on.
Score: 9
