Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ Studio coupled with Stanton’s FinalScratch hardware changed the landscape for DJs, providing them with a means of manipulating digital tracks using vinyl hardware. Last year, however, Native Instruments and Stanton decided to end their relationship, with NI choosing to develop its own integrated system based around the new Audio 8 DJ interface and a customised version of its Traktor 3 software. The result is Traktor Scratch, which on paper at least certainly looks as though it has everything today’s DJ could possibly ask for. So, how does it measure up?
