Flux Trax
In a world already full of harmonisers and pitch-shifting plug-ins, does Trax offer anything new? Liam O’Mullane puts it to the test.

Flux is a relatively new sound-and-picture development company based in France. The company usually releases mix and mastering solutions in the form of compressors, equalisers and multi-band dynamics tools. But its three new plug-ins – developed in conjunction with electro-acoustic research institute Ircam Tools – are based on years of research by the sound analysis and synthesis team. Spat and Verb are both acoustic space-orientated and designed for stereo or surround sound spatial work, but it’s the sonic processing bundle we are testing here.
