Professional guitarist Mike Fuller became so frustrated with the hassles, noise and general unreliability of vintage effects boxes that he started building his own. His formula of improving the bandwidth, noise floor and versatility of classic designs has proved very successful, so perhaps it was inevitable that he would eventually develop his own all-valve version of the classic Maestro Echoplex.
