Like many Universal Audio products, the 710 has one control for setting the input gain and another for output level. This provides tone-shaping potential for creative recordists who don’t feel beholden to ridged ideas about optimum gain structures. Think of it like a master volume guitar amp – you can overload the input while keeping volume levels manageable.
