Focusrite gear has become synonymous with high quality and prices to match. The Platinum range brings that reputation to a lower price point, but attaching the word ‘budget’ to it hardly feels appropriate. Clearly, Focusrite’s thinking is that it can add a little of its high-class sparkle to the equipment racks of those of more modest means. But, of course, this implies compromise. Has there been any?
