The US-800 is a cost-effective USB audio interface for PC and Intel Mac users, but check compatibility on Tascam’s website because the US-800 requires relatively up-to-date operating systems. The inputs include two XLR/ TS jack combination sockets for balanced microphone and unbalanced instruments, plus four XLR/TRS jack combination sockets for balanced microphone and line signals. There’s also MIDI I/O, a coaxial S/PDIF digital input with two unbalanced line outputs, digital output and two headphone sockets (1/4-inch and 1/8-inch). Digital audio formats up to 24-bit/96kHz are supported and simultaneous use of ASIO and WDM audio protocols is permitted.
