In the last couple of years, the appearance of new music hardware has been almost outpaced by releases of software – which obviously has the advantages of vastly lower development, shipping and marketing costs. So where does that leave the traditional instrument manufacturers, already tooled up for the creation of printed circuit boards, metal cabinets, and instruments peppered with knobs and sockets?
