Behringer has built up a reputation for providing value for money, so does the new REV2496 follow in this tradition? Keith Gemmell is all ears.

When you’re setting up a home studio, one of the most important items on the shopping list is the reverb unit. A single unit is all that’s usually required for a small studio, but choosing the right model can be confusing to the uninitiated. Not so very long ago, 16-bit devices such as the Quadraverb and Midiverb ruled the home recording roost, but these days the quality has improved and there’s a plethora of reasonably cheap (and some rather nasty), easy-to-use 24-bit models to choose from. Even manufacturers usually associated with more expensive audio equipment – such as Lexicon – have invaded the lower end of the market.
