Listen to just about any genre of mainstream music these days and you can be pretty confident that there’ll be a looped sample lurking in there somewhere – indeed, the tune could be almost entirely built on them. Most of us who use loops as part of composing music on computers will probably already have quite an extensive library at our disposal, ready and waiting to be dropped into an arrangement and then sliced and effected to fit the piece.
