The original Evolution X-Session proved the demand for DJ-orientated MIDI controllers, providing users with a MIDI crossfader, a bank of 16 knobs and 10 assignable buttons. M-Audio gained the X-Session in August 2003, with its acquisition of Evolution Electronics. Since then, M-Audio has continued to sell the X-Session, and until now had done so without making any alterations to the unit, which remains incredibly popular in computer-based home DJ setups.
